Aspire Park witnessed a vibrant sports and community festival on Tuesday morning during State Sports Day, as diverse athletic activities and strong public participation created a lively scene full of energy and enthusiasm—reflecting the scale of community engagement under the slogan “I Chose Sport.”

From early morning, the park welcomed participants to events organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, represented by the Qatar Sports For All Federation, with the participation of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. The activities were attended by Eng. Yasser bin Abdullah Al Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, alongside senior ministry officials and sports leaders, who took part in the festivities through a mini football match and tours of the various sports stations prepared for participants of all ages.

Distinctive Atmosphere

The Sports for All Federation organized a wide variety of activities at Aspire Park to cater to all family members. These included a children’s balloon run, self-defense demonstrations, football, volleyball, badminton, running, chess, tug-of-war, specialized strength and endurance sessions, stretching and recovery classes, gymnastics, and a broad range of recreational games and activities.

The events drew a large crowd—especially youth and children—while families of all ages filled the park, creating a festive sporting atmosphere that reflected strong community interaction with the message of State Sports Day. The event became an open platform for inclusive participation and the promotion of physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

The activities at Aspire were part of a nationwide scene, with thousands of citizens and residents of various ages and nationalities heading to public parks, squares, sports fields, and green spaces across the country to mark State Sports Day. The initiative aims to strengthen community awareness of the importance of sport and its vital role in enhancing public health, quality of life, and integrating physical activity into daily routines.

Abdulrahman Al Dosari: An Initiative to Build a Healthy and Active Society

Abdulrahman bin Musallam Al Dosari, Chairman of the State Sports Day Committee and President of the Qatar Sports For All Federation, praised the positive atmosphere accompanying the activities, noting that the strong turnout across different age groups reflects widespread engagement with State Sports Day.

He added that the momentum seen across parks, open spaces, and sports facilities nationwide demonstrates the Ministry’s commitment to geographically distributing activities to cover all areas of the country—including Msheireb, Lusail, Aspire, The Pearl, Al Bidda, Katara, Education City, and northern, southern, and western regions—ensuring broad community participation in this major sporting gathering.

Al Dosari also highlighted that the sports program includes women-only activities in more than 18 locations to enhance inclusivity. He emphasized that the growing turnout reflects increasing awareness of the importance of sport as a sustainable lifestyle, noting that State Sports Day has become a pioneering national initiative embodying Qatar’s vision of building a healthy and active society. It is no longer merely an annual occasion, but a national platform promoting the importance of ongoing sports participation.

He further noted that this year’s slogan, “#I_Chose_Sport,” represents a conscious national direction affirming that practicing sport is a responsible choice that enhances individual well-being and improves overall quality of life.

Abdullah Al Dosari: Growing Community Awareness of Sports Culture

Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports For All Federation, expressed his satisfaction with the strong turnout from early morning, stressing that the prominent presence of families with their children was the defining feature of the day’s events and reflects growing awareness of the importance of spreading a culture of sport.

He affirmed that children participating alongside their parents added a special atmosphere to the event, transforming it into both a sporting and family gathering where athletic activity blended with educational and family values—perfectly embodying the essence of the slogan “I Chose Sport.”

He also emphasized the Federation’s commitment to diversifying sports and recreational programs to suit various age groups and abilities, giving participants the freedom to choose activities and maximize their physical and health benefits.
