Qatar’s beach volleyball team “Qatar 2”, comprising the duo Mousa Al-Khair and Mohammed Ehab, continued its winning run at the 20th Asian Games “Aichi-Nagoya 2026”, currently being held in Japan, after defeating the Sri Lankan duo Sadun and Delipa 2-1 in the second round of Group D.

The sets ended in favor of the Qatari duo 21-10, 16-21, 15-10, securing Qatar 2’s second consecutive victory after opening its campaign with a win over the South Korean duo Sangbin and Jeongtaek.

The Qatari duo will conclude its group-stage matches next Saturday against Thailand’s Purawit and Phithak, in a match where they will look to maintain their winning streak and strengthen their chances of advancing to the knockout stages.

Mousa Al-Khair and Mohammed Ehab delivered a strong performance throughout the three sets, showing high concentration and clear understanding, with an advantage in their attacking play and their ability to handle different phases of the match, securing the victory and maintaining their positive results in the competition.

Mohammed Salem Al-Kuwari, General Supervisor of the Qatar national beach volleyball team, expressed his satisfaction with the level displayed by Mousa Al-Khair and Mohammed Ehab, stressing that the team has been making steady progress since the start of the Asian Games.

Al-Kuwari said: “Mousa Al-Khair and Mohammed Ehab have been performing well so far, and they have managed to win two consecutive matches, which is highly positive and demonstrates their ability to handle the atmosphere of Asian competitions. We hope they can maintain the same level of consistency in the upcoming matches and achieve the results we are aiming for.”

He added: “This duo consists of young players, and we see them as an important project for the future, particularly given their capabilities and strong desire to develop. Their clear chemistry and understanding on the court also represent an important strength. With more matches and greater experience, they will be able to deliver even better performances and achieve greater results.”

He continued: “We are pleased with what they have shown so far, and we are working to support them and provide everything they need to continue developing. Our ambition is for the duo to maintain their strong performances and go far in this competition, especially as tournaments like these provide young players with valuable experience and help them build a promising future in beach volleyball.”

Al-Kuwari also pointed out that the duo of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, representing “Qatar 1”, will face Oman in a strong match next Sunday in Group A, stressing that the match will be difficult and will require a high level of focus from the Qatari duo.
