The match that brought together the Algerian national team and its Iraqi counterpart yesterday was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth, alongside His Excellency Mr. Saleh Attiyah, Ambassador of Algeria to the sisterly State of Qatar.

His Excellency followed the course of the match, during which the Algerian national team delivered an outstanding performance, crowned with a well-deserved 2–0 victory, amid an excellent sporting atmosphere that reflected the high competitive spirit between the two brotherly teams.

After the match, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani congratulated His Excellency the Ambassador on the positive result achieved by “the Greens,” praising the technical level and strong discipline shown by the players on the pitch. He also expressed his wishes for the Algerian national team to continue their strong performances and achieve further successes in their sporting journey.

For his part, His Excellency the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the Minister’s presence and his constant keenness to support sporting events, affirming that such attendance reflects the depth of the strong fraternal relations that unite the two brotherly countries, Qatar and Algeria.

Earlier yesterday, prior to the match, His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani had visited the Algerian national team delegation at their place of residence. He was received by His Excellency Saleh Attiyah, Ambassador of Algeria to the State of Qatar. During the visit, His Excellency congratulated the players on their honorable performances in previous matches, affirming his support and encouragement for them as well as for the technical and administrative staff. During the visit, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani was also honored with the official jersey of the Algerian national team and the national flag. His Excellency Ambassador Saleh Attiyah expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani for this generous and kind initiative, which reflects the depth of the distinguished fraternal relations that unite the two brotherly countries and peoples.
