Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Doha Youth Center held an awareness workshop titled “Traffic Safety” as part of the summer camp activities (Our Summer is Youthful), in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic.
The workshop addressed several topics, including violations such as not wearing a seatbelt, overtaking from the right, using a mobile phone while driving, not affixing both metal plates or one of them on the vehicle, not renewing the driver’s license, and the importance of not overtaking police, Lekhwiya, ambulance, and civil defense vehicles. The workshop also discussed traffic safety etiquette, road rules, the principles of respecting the road, and the main violations punishable by law. Additionally, it explained the points system aimed at preventing traffic accidents.
Mr. Khaled Al-Yafie highlighted the importance of such workshops in raising awareness among youth as part of the ongoing and intensive efforts to spread traffic awareness to stop traffic accidents that claim the lives of young people who are the backbone of the nation.
Mr. Fawaz Al-Masifri, Director of the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, inspected the summer camp activities and events at Doha Youth Center at Khalifa Secondary School for Boys, accompanied by Mr. Khaled Al-Yafie, Director of the Summer Camp. Al-Masifri reviewed a range of activities and programs offered by the center to its members, as well as the diverse contributions made by participating members during the summer camp period. Mr. Khaled Al-Yafie praised the great efforts and fruitful cooperation provided by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, represented by the Youth Affairs Department, to Doha Youth Center in organizing this camp and providing all means to make this year’s camp one of the most successful summer camps offered by the center.
