Under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Young Entrepreneurs Club announced today the graduation of 78 students as part of the first program directed towards youth, the “Samsung Innovation Program,” in collaboration with Samsung Gulf Electronics.

The students completed a three-month educational course focusing on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Graduates of the program received certificates of program completion at a ceremony held in Doha.

The educational course, held under the slogan “Together for Tomorrow! Empowering Young Talents,” provided a unique opportunity for learners with a good knowledge background in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to build on their knowledge in machine learning and acquire new skills and experiences in the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and related applications.

Innovation Support

On this occasion, Mr. Ibrahim Khalid Al Sulaiti, President of the Young Entrepreneurs Club, said: “Celebrating the graduation of these outstanding students from the ‘Samsung Innovation Program’ in Qatar marks a significant milestone in our collaboration with Samsung. This initiative reaffirms our commitment to fostering innovation and providing essential skills in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning for youth. Together, we are working to empower the next generation to acquire these new skills and drive technological progress for a prosperous future.”

The course, through its specialized educational curriculum, teaches students the most important tools and applications in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning-related work environments. Students are introduced to the basics of artificial intelligence and machine learning through program events and activities, taught by an expert trainer. They also attend live virtual sessions to gain a comprehensive understanding of technological processes. The course follows a blended learning and self-paced model, with participants given exercises for each unit, in addition to presentations and lectures covering aspects of statistics, algorithms, and programming.

At the end of the course, students gained a good understanding of the statistical and mathematical basis of machine learning, familiarized themselves with the benefits of the Python programming language and libraries used in machine learning algorithms, and applied these algorithms to real datasets, as well as learning how to build projects while following the data science lifecycle.

Support for Qatar Vision 2030

The launch of the “Samsung Innovation Program” in the country, which is Samsung’s global citizenship program, supports Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which focuses primarily on digital transformation. Samsung signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Young Entrepreneurs Club in October 2023 to launch the “Samsung Innovation Program” in Qatar.
