This morning, Thursday, the Ministry of Sports and Youth celebrated the graduation of participants in the Youth Ambassadors Program for the support of the third edition, aimed at international representation. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanim Al-Ali, Minister of Sports and Youth, and included the presence of several dignitaries and ambassadors.

Since the program’s launch in September of the current year, workshops and training programs have been provided to refine skills and empower youth to represent the state. The Youth Ambassadors Program for Support is one of the strategic programs managed by the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

The program has been operating for two consecutive editions since 2021, contributing to building the capabilities of Qatari youth and enabling them to acquire essential skills to represent the state in local and international forums, including United Nations organizations and in response to official invitations from external entities and international organizations. This has provided them with opportunities to assume professional and societal leadership roles, helping them to achieve Qatar’s Vision 2030.

The third edition of the program was launched following the success of the first two editions. On September 16 of the past year, 28 elite Qatari youth, equipped with knowledge to represent the state honorably, were selected. These youth were chosen based on diverse specializations and cultural backgrounds.

The program included thirteen training courses over two consecutive months. Participants completed courses such as Regional and International Organizations presented by the Qatari National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science; Personal Branding delivered by trainer Fahd Al-Obaidli; Diplomatic Protocol and Etiquette by Dr. Omar Ghanem; Introduction to Qatar’s National Vision and Strategy by trainers from the Planning and Statistics Authority; Dialogue Management; Introduction to the Art of Dialogue by Qatar Debate Center; Importance of Cybersecurity by the National Cyber Security Agency; Media Engagement Skills by Al Jazeera Media Institute; Qatar’s Role in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals by the Qatar Development Fund; Political Geography by Dr. Jasim Sultan from the Ministry of Culture’s Civilizational Heart Center; and Organizing Youth Delegations in External Events by trainer Latifa Al-Dosari. There were also sessions on Climate Impact at Local and International Levels by a representative from UNESCO, and Political Formulation Preparation by the British Embassy.

The ceremony began with a keynote address from the guest of honor, His Excellency Mr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari, former ambassador and President of the Qatar National Library, who welcomed dignitaries and ambassadors and expressed nostalgia for his years as an ambassador, emphasizing the importance of cultural knowledge in all aspects of life. He thanked the Minister of Education and Higher Education.

Mr. Al-Kuwari hosted the Youth Ambassadors for Support at the Qatar National Library, sharing his diplomatic journey and cultural experiences with them. On the final day of the program, Qatar National Library hosted a session on developing sustainable policies with an external evaluation committee and voting on the best policy.

In conclusion, graduates of the program were honored at the end of the ceremony.
