Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports for All Federation has announced the launch of the “Night Run for All,” scheduled to take place on February 22 in collaboration with the Old Doha Port.
The race’s organizing committee stated that 800 participants of all ages are expected to take part. They emphasized that the night run is part of a series of unique and distinctive races organized by the federation, and it is open to all segments of society.
Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, the Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, confirmed that the starting point of the race will be at the parking area of the Old Doha Port on the eastern side. The route will pass through the shopping area and the running track, ending at the docking area for large ships within the port.
Al-Dosari added that the race will be divided into two levels along the same out-and-back course. The first level will consist of a 1-kilometer race allocated for four categories, while the second level will feature a 5-kilometer race for three categories, covering ages from 3 years old to over 40. These categories include open, masters, intermediate, juniors, and children. Registration will be available through the Qatar Sports for All Federation’s app, QSFA, on the App Store for all categories.
He highlighted that the Night Run at the Old Doha Port is a distinctive and unique event in Qatar, as it is the first night race to be held along the Doha Corniche. Al-Dosari affirmed that the federation, in collaboration with its partners, aims to attract the largest possible number of children and youth to participate in this event.
He expressed hope that this race would serve as a remarkable milestone within the 2025 sports-for-all activities and an opportunity to leverage Qatar’s rich sports and tourism venues. He also acknowledged the efforts of partners in creating an ideal environment for promoting sports and ensuring the success of all events organized by the federation.
The federation is committed to providing various types of races that allow running enthusiasts to participate, compete, and enjoy accompanying programs. Additionally, prizes will be awarded for the best photo and video clip captured during the race.
