The Qatar Sports for All Federation has revealed a series of diverse weekly running races, including the Sports for All Mountain Bike and Running Race, Autumn Races, and the Sports for All Women’s Races, to be held in public parks, sports venues, and around World Cup stadiums. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Head of Activities and Events at the Qatar Sports for All Federation, announced that in the coming period, this series of races will be held with the aim of promoting community sports. This initiative aligns with the plans and strategy of the Ministry of Sports and Youth to spread a culture of sports participation within the community through various types of races. These events will cater to different age groups, including men, women, and children from both Qatari nationals and residents, and aim to encourage entire families to engage in sports activities held in parks and public spaces.

He added that these races are generally aimed at the community and are not specifically for professionals. In total, more than 34 races will be held, serving as a preliminary step for participants to prepare for major races like the Dheeb Race, the Qatar East-to-West Ultramarathon (90 km), and the Doha Marathon. The federation is committed to involving everyone in these races, which are open to children as young as 3 years old, youth up to 18, and adults over 40 years old. This effort is part of the federation’s mission to provide the necessary conditions to facilitate sports participation.

Al-Dosari expressed his hope that these races, which are part of the federation’s packed calendar, consisting of more than 720 events and activities throughout the year, including swimming, football, Muay Thai, as well as joint programs with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and youth organizations, will motivate everyone to practice sports. He emphasized that the goal is to reach the largest number of sports participants in the community. The details of all the races are available through the Sports for All app.
