Organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the tournament will kick off at Lusail Sports Arena with four group stage matches.
The first match will see the Ministry of Interior face off against the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs at 6:00 PM, followed by the second match between the Ministry of Municipality and the General Authority of Customs at 6:50 PM.
The competition continues with the third match featuring the Ministry of Sports and Youth against the Public Works Authority, and the first day concludes with the fourth match between the Qatar Red Crescent and the Ministry of Social Development and Family.
A total of 12 teams are participating in the tournament, divided into four groups of three teams each, with 144 players taking part (12 players per team).
The Ministry of Interior leads Group A, having finished second in last year’s edition, alongside the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Qatar Media Corporation.
Group B is topped by the Ministry of Municipality, which secured third place in the previous edition, joined by the General Authority of Customs and Qatar Museums.
Group C is led by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, who finished fourth last year, along with the Public Works Authority and the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.
Group D includes the Qatar Red Crescent, the Ministry of Social Development and Family, and the Ministry of Justice.
Group stage matches will continue with eight more fixtures scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, stated that today’s opening round, featuring four matches, promises to be full of excitement and fierce competition among the participating teams, given their high capabilities and performance levels.
He also noted that the participating entities in this edition of the futsal championship will each receive 20 points, which will count toward the National Sports Day Award, set to be announced in conjunction with the 2025 National Sports Day celebrations.
