The “Ekps 2025” Beach Volleyball Championship, in its third edition, is nearing its final stages, with teams securing their spots in the semifinals, which will take place today at the old Doha Port courts. The teams will have a rest day tomorrow in preparation for the final match on Friday evening.

This edition, which is being held for the first time at the old Doha Port, has set a milestone, breaking records in daily audience attendance. The large crowd that has attended the matches and supported the participating teams has played a significant role in the success of the tournament.

The 2025 Beach Volleyball Championship has successfully attracted several prominent figures, with many sports personalities, including heads of sports federations and club presidents, attending the competition alongside Faisal Khaled Al-Otaibi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the tournament.

Everyone has praised the exceptional organization of the tournament, which is considered one of the best sports events during the holy month of Ramadan. The attendees were also impressed by the high technical level of the matches and the strength of the competing teams, in addition to the daily influx of spectators from the opening until now.

The tournament followed a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals. The organizing committee allocated a prize fund of 100,000 Qatari riyals for the top three positions to encourage and support the participating teams. The winner will receive 50,000 riyals, the runner-up will receive 30,000 riyals, and the third-place finisher will receive 20,000 riyals.

Youssef Al-Shami, Chairman of the Media Committee for the “Ekps” Ramadan Beach Volleyball Championship, emphasized the importance of media coverage in highlighting the tournament and showcasing the high technical level of the participating teams. He mentioned that the tournament, held at the old Doha Port courts, has attracted widespread attention from the public and followers, reflecting its great success on various levels.

Al-Shami praised the exceptional organization of the tournament, considering it one of the main sporting events during Ramadan. He also noted that the high technical level of the matches has added more excitement from day one.

He added that the tournament has witnessed strong competition between the teams, demonstrating their readiness to compete for the title, especially as the teams move into the knockout stages. The quarterfinals have been filled with intense matches, signaling that the semifinals and final will be highly competitive and thrilling.

He concluded by wishing good luck to all the teams as the tournament approaches its final stages, especially with the presence of distinguished teams striving to win.
