Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the State Sports Day Committee will hold its second meeting tomorrow, Monday, via the Microsoft Teams platform. The meeting will include all ministries, institutions, and government, semi-government, and private entities participating in the State Sports Day Award. The meeting will take place at Lusail Sports Hall and aims to address any issues and answer all questions related to the award, with a detailed explanation of the participation mechanisms, conditions, and evaluation criteria.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Head of Activities and Events at the Qatar Sports Federation and member of the State Sports Day Committee, welcomed all entities participating in tomorrow’s workshop. He emphasized that the opportunity is still open for any government or private entity to participate in the award by submitting their request through the award’s email: nsdaward@msy.gov.qa. He pointed out that the State Sports Day Award, which was launched for the first time this year by the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the State Sports Day Committee, aims to complement the journey of the State Sports Day, which started 13 years ago. The award also seeks to enhance positive competition among different institutions, encouraging them to create healthy and active work environments by ensuring continuous physical activity throughout the year. This contributes to improving public health, preventing diseases, promoting a sports spirit within Qatari society, and motivating employees in ministries and private entities to organize and hold ongoing sports events throughout the year, fostering positive competition values.

Al-Dosari explained that participation in the award began on October 1 of the past year, and registration is still open until July 31, 2025. The conditions for participation include visiting the award’s official website to learn about the participation conditions, categories, evaluation methods, and contact details. Participants can submit any questions for responses, and they must promote their sports events on social media using the hashtags #في_وقت and #الرياضة_حياة, along with a post containing event details and tagging the State Sports Day account (qatarsportsforall@). Participants must also document all events with high-quality photos and videos and share them on their institution’s social media accounts to increase awareness and community participation. Additionally, they must register the event details, including the name of the entity, event type, and the number of participants (men, women, or children), and provide a description of the event, location, and start and end dates by filling out the event form on the official website of the Ministry of Sports and Youth (https://www.msy.gov.qa). The form should be submitted by a representative from the participating entity, including the official email address and the name of the person submitting the form. This should be done no later than the seventh day of the month following the event.

The final step involves uploading supporting documents for the evaluation process, such as photos and videos of the events or providing links to files exceeding 500 MB.

The first meeting of the State Sports Day Committee for ministries and entities participating in the award was held last October, with the participation of 70 entities. During that meeting, all questions related to participation mechanisms, conditions, and criteria were answered. Participants expressed their happiness at the launch of the award, which supports competition among ministries, bodies, and institutions, aiming to make sports a way of life.
