The Qatar Youth Council of the Ministry of Sports and Youth held its first meeting yesterday evening, Wednesday, January 4, 2023, where the members of the council elected the president and vice president by direct secret ballot.

Mr. Nawaf Mohammed Al-Madhahka was elected President of the Qatari Youth Council, and Mr. Farhoud Hadi Al-Hajri as Vice-Chairman. This will be followed by the formation of committees and branch offices to distribute the work among the members of the Council.

For his part, Mr. Abdul Rahman Musallam Al-Dosari, Adviser to His Excellency the Minister of Sports and Youth, stated: The Ministry has high hopes for this council, as the Ministry relies heavily on the performance of this council to achieve its goals.

For his part, Mr. Fawaz Al-Musifri, Director of the Youth Affairs Department, said: The Qatari Youth Council is considered the best representation of youth, as it represents youth centers that include the largest number of this age group in the country.

Al-Musifri added that the council is expected to advance youth work in the country in all aspects, whether by monitoring issues and challenges or proposing appropriate solutions to youth aspirations and visions in all areas of interest to youth.

It is worth noting that the establishment of the council comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to develop awareness among young people of community issues, enhance leadership and humanitarian aspects, and build personality among young people, as well as contribute to the evaluation and development of strategies and state plans for youth development, and to enhance cooperation with specialized international youth organizations and councils to exchange experiences related to youth affairs.
