The fourth phase of the program for teaching and training children in sailing and kayaking, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation under the guidance of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in cooperation with the Doha Sailing and Marine Club on Katara Beach, concludes today. The program targets boys aged 10 to 16 through two training sessions, morning and evening: the first starts at 10:30 a.m. and continues until 12:00 p.m., and the second begins at 3:00 p.m. and continues until 4:30 p.m., where participants experience a wonderful maritime experience combining fun and learning.
Over the past two days, the Qatar Sports for All Federation launched a new round of the training program, which witnessed wide participation from water sports enthusiasts, amid lively and enthusiastic atmospheres, reflecting the growing interest in these specialized activities that contribute to developing physical abilities, enhancing the desire for learning and knowledge, and fostering a spirit of challenge among children.
The launch of a new round of the sailing and kayaking education program at this time falls within the calendar of diverse events organized by the Federation throughout the year. The program aims to promote healthy lifestyles and encourage the community to engage in continuous physical activity by providing a variety of events, seeking to instill the values of competition and sportsmanship among participants, especially during vacation periods, particularly among children, adolescents, and youth from schools.
Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, described the sailing and kayaking education program as a distinguished and specialized sporting activity that provides a unique experience for children. He said it represents a qualitative leap in programs aimed at children and youth by introducing them to one of the most beautiful and beneficial water sports, which combines physical fitness, mental focus, and discipline. He pointed out that the program has a significant impact and achieves remarkable results over its various rounds, attracting an increasing number of participants from one edition to another who seek to acquire basic skills for practicing water sports, learning the skills of this sport, maritime safety principles, paddling, and safe sailing. The training is conducted under the supervision of specialized and qualified coaches and includes both theoretical and practical aspects in a safe and well-prepared environment. Training sessions also cover the components of sailing boats and kayaks, how to maintain balance, and the ability to steer using the paddle, in addition to warm-up exercises specific to water sports.
The Qatar Sports for All Federation calls on everyone to take advantage of the many training opportunities it offers through a diverse range of activities and events that cater to various interests, including water sports and swimming, beach volleyball, martial arts, in addition to the Fall Sports for All Camp for children at Lusail Sports Hall, where these diverse activities are carefully designed to suit different age groups.
