Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports Federation for All has announced the launch of the second edition of the training program for teaching Muay Thai, in cooperation with the Youth Department of Al-Rayyan and Al-Sailiya Clubs, at the Semaisma and Al-Dhaen Youth Centers.
The program will commence on September 16th of this month and will run until October 12th. The training sessions are designated for boys aged 16 and above. This newly introduced training program is part of the activities and programs of the federation.
Training sessions will take place from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, with two sessions per week. On Saturdays and Mondays, the sessions will be held at Al-Sailiya Club, on Sundays and Wednesdays at Semaisma and Al-Dhaen Youth Center, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Al-Rayyan Club.
Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, the Director of Events and Activities at the Qatar Sports Federation for All, emphasized that the training program is a continuation of the great success achieved by the first edition, which took place during the summer and witnessed widespread participation from youth who were keen to learn the skills of this new self-defense sport.
He also pointed out that the Muay Thai training program, which is one of the martial arts, is part of the events calendar organized by the federation. This reflects their commitment to organizing events related to new sports to ensure diversity and a wide range of sporting activities, thus achieving the desired goals by involving as many members of the community as possible in physical and active pursuits.
The Qatar Sports Federation for All continues to organize diverse sporting events, catering to the aspirations of all segments of society. This aligns with the federation’s primary goals, which include promoting a culture of sports in all community circles and achieving the main objective of making sports a ‘lifestyle.’ This approach helps improve the health of community members and assists them in transitioning to a better lifestyle by engaging in physical activity.

It is commonly referred to as ‘Thai Boxing,’ and it holds a special place in Thailand as the country’s primary sport. It is also known as ‘Sillapa Muay Thai.’ This comprehensive sport encompasses a wide range of different combat disciplines, and many world champions in various combat sports often come from the Muay Thai fighter category.
