Today, the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth organized a ‘preparatory course’ for the youth delegation representing the State of Qatar in the activities of the Economic and Social Council, which will be held at the United Nations headquarters in New York from April 16th to 18th, 2024.

The course focused on introducing youth to the Economic and Social Council and the accompanying side events, as well as familiarizing them with Qatar’s foreign policy.

A significant part of the course was dedicated to preparing youth interventions regarding the Sustainable Development Goals, which will be discussed at the Council in New York, including Goals 1, 2, 13, 16, and 17.

This course is part of a project aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Qatari youth, improving their skills, and supporting the presence of Qatari youth in regional and international organizations.

The training was supervised by Dr. Abdullah Diwan, the youth advisor at the ministry, in order to achieve the ministry’s vision of ‘active and responsible youth with a national conscience.’

The delegation consists of the following gentlemen and ladies:

The workshops took place over three consecutive days at the Qatar Youth Centers.
