The Ministry of Sports and Youth is participating in the 10th edition of Qatar Sustainability Week, organized by “Earthna: Center for a Sustainable Future,” a member of Qatar Foundation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, from November 1 to 8, 2025, as part of its efforts to integrate sustainability principles into various youth and sports activities.
This year, the ministry’s participation includes 48 diverse activities, comprising 37 youth-focused and 11 sports-related events, all aiming to raise community awareness and instill a culture of sustainability among young people and athletes, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and its environmental and human development pillars.
The ministry’s activities during the week include awareness campaigns, training workshops, and youth-led community initiatives, reflecting its commitment to translating sustainability concepts into practical actions that contribute to building a more conscious and environmentally responsible society.
This participation aligns with Qatar’s national youth policy, which emphasizes the role of youth in protecting the environment and contributing to sustainable development. Through these events, the ministry empowers young people to actively shape a sustainable future and participate in national environmental initiatives.
Additionally, the ministry implements internal programs targeting its staff to embed sustainability concepts in the workplace and encourage daily environmentally friendly practices, reinforcing its overall commitment to applying sustainability principles at both institutional and community levels.
In this context, Mr. Rashid Al Nuaimi, representing the Ministry of Sports and Youth, said:
“At the Ministry of Sports and Youth, we believe that empowering young people is a central pillar of sustainable development, as they are the main drivers of positive change and active partners in building a more aware and sustainable future.”
Al Nuaimi added:
“During our participation in Qatar Sustainability Week, we focused on turning concepts into practical applications through events and initiatives led by the youth themselves, enabling them to be inspiring role models in their communities and actively contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.”
He emphasized that this approach aligns with the national youth policy, which seeks to prepare a generation that is environmentally conscious and actively engaged in sustainable development efforts, noting that the ministry continues to support programs and initiatives that enhance environmental awareness in both the sports and youth sectors.
