The Ministry of Sports and Youth has obtained the National Information Assurance (NIA v2.1) Compliance Certificate, issued by the National Cybersecurity Agency, following the completion of external assessment and audit processes conducted in accordance with the national frameworks governing information security.

This certification affirms the Ministry’s commitment to implementing information security management system requirements in line with approved national standards, enhancing data governance, protecting digital assets, and supporting business continuity within a secure and reliable operational environment. The audit process was carried out by an accredited assessment body, and the certificate is valid until February 11, 2029.

In his remarks, H.E. Eng. Yasser bin Abdullah Al-Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, stated that obtaining the compliance certificate reflects the adoption of an integrated information security management system aligned with the national requirements and standards issued by the National Cybersecurity Agency.

He added that the compliance journey represents a model of effective institutional collaboration, as the assessment phases were characterized by structure and organization—from fulfilling requirements, to independent external audits, and finally the concluding review and certification—within an official framework that measures the extent to which the information security management system meets the approved standard.

He further explained that implementing the standard’s requirements has contributed to strengthening the integration of the Ministry’s cybersecurity ecosystem, enhancing the readiness of specialized teams, and embedding a culture of compliance as a continuous operational approach that supports the protection of information and digital services in the sports sector.

H.E. concluded by expressing appreciation for the support and guidance provided by the National Cybersecurity Agency, emphasizing that close collaboration played a key role in achieving compliance efficiently and strengthening the cybersecurity ecosystem at the national level.
