Today, Sunday, May 26, 2024, the activities of the training program “Qatar Youth Delegates to the United Nations” were launched. This program, implemented by the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, involves about 24 young Qataris who are graduates of the ministry’s strategic programs. The program will continue until next Thursday, May 30, at the United Nations House in the Lusail area.

Mr. Fawaz Al-Misifri, Director of the Youth Affairs Department, emphasized that this program aligns with the ministry’s vision of “Active and Responsible Youth with a National Spirit, and a Society Engaged in Sports,” aiming to enable youth to actively contribute to the nation’s developmental journey across all levels, supporting and enhancing the national vision 2030 with qualified cadres serving its goals and aspirations. Al-Misifri added that the training will focus on educating the youth about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), diplomatic negotiation, principles and mechanisms of working within the United Nations, and enhancing their knowledge of international organizations, in addition to Qatar’s foreign policy on international issues.

Mr. Rashid Al-Nuaimi, the program director, expressed his happiness with the participation of governmental and international partners in the program, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Planning Council, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, the Education Above All Foundation, and UNICEF.
