The Ministry of Sports and Youth has announced the launch of its new strategy, which reflects its future vision and aligns with the aspirations of Qatari youth, under the slogan “High-Quality Life and Youth Ready for the Future.”
The strategy aims to enhance the role of sports in improving health and reducing the risk of diseases, developing talents in all priority sports, improving the performance of athletes, supporting the role of the private sector in organizing sports events, developing Qatari cadres working in the fields of sports and youth, and achieving operational efficiency in sports facilities.
The new strategy seeks to create an integrated sports environment that contributes to building a healthy and active society, opening the door to expand the base of Qatari talents through the launch of several initiatives, emphasizing that the strategy is inclusive, so that every individual in society benefits from this excellence, whether they are youth, women, people with disabilities, or senior citizens.
In this context, His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth, confirmed that the launch of the Sports and Youth Excellence Strategy represents an important step towards enhancing the sustainable development of this vital sector. He said: “In the State of Qatar, we believe that sports and youth are two essential pillars in building a vibrant and creative society. Therefore, we are keen to develop strategies that align with the aspirations of our youth and enhance Qatar’s position as a global sports destination.”
His Excellency added in a speech on the occasion of launching the strategy that this strategy reflects the country’s vision in empowering youth and investing in their capabilities, and enhancing the role of sports as a means to achieve development and community cohesion. He expressed his hope for achieving its ambitious goals aimed at “High-Quality Life and Youth Ready for the Future” in collaboration with partners in the sports sector.
For his part, His Excellency Engineer Yasser bin Abdullah Al-Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, said that the new strategy represents a roadmap for advancing this vital sector and enhancing its role in achieving Qatar’s National Vision 2030. He called on all those involved in its implementation to make every effort to ensure its objectives are achieved, confirming his confidence that this strategy will make important strides in the long path of excellence in the sports and youth sector and enhance Qatar’s position globally while meeting the aspirations of all stakeholders.
For her part, Ms. Maha Al-Rumaihi, Director of the Planning, Quality, and Innovation Department, expressed her happiness with the launch of the strategy, which is the result of significant efforts from all parties. She confirmed the ministry’s commitment to making this strategy comprehensive and sustainable, based on the best global practices, and directed towards achieving the aspirations of youth and the sports community in Qatar.
The sports and youth sector in Qatar plays a pivotal role in the country’s human, social, and economic development. It plays a key role in achieving national outcomes related to building a vibrant and prosperous society. It also contributes to providing a high-quality life for all, developing the skills of youth, and increasing their effectiveness and participation.
The new strategy aligns with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which focuses on increasing participation in sports activities, promoting innovation and creativity, and preserving values and ethics.
The Ministry of Sports and Youth has enhanced the event by using advertising screens in various areas of the country, such as Lusail, Msheireb, Aspire Park, and Katara, among other locations.
