The program was launched in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanem Al-Ali, Minister of Sports and Youth, Mr. Youssef bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, and a number of officials from the Ministry and Qatar Charity.

The Ministry of Sports and Youth and Qatar Charity are working through the “Fazaa Youth Support” program to qualify and train 20 young men and women to provide them with the foundations and standards of humanitarian and development work locally and internationally, and to learn about experiences related to managing humanitarian work by presenting various projects in this field.

On the sidelines of the program launch ceremony, Mr. Fawaz Al-Musifri, Director of the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, said that the new program stems from the Ministry’s Vision aimed at preparing active and responsible Qatari youth with a sense of patriotism. As the project generally contributes to preparing Qatari youth who is aware of the humanitarian and development work and its societal impact, and is able to understand the surrounding challenges to create a better tomorrow, in line with Qatar Vision 2030.

He added that the program would prepare young people capable of contributing to the development of the humanitarian and development field in the State of Qatar, and contributing to improving its reputation at the international level, as an active country in the field of humanitarian and international development.

For his part, Mr. Faisal Rashid Al-Fahida, Assistant CEO of the Programs and Community Development Sector at Qatar Charity, said, “We are pleased to cooperate with the Ministry of Sports and Youth in this program, and we consider it an important program because it contributes to refining the skills of young people interested in volunteer and humanitarian work and developing their capabilities in this aspect through the theoretical and practical fields. It also reflects on the service of our local community and humanitarian work in the world, and reflects the bright image of the State of Qatar and its people, who are known for their love of goodness and relief for the needy.”

The naming of the program “Fazaa Youth Support” reflects social responsibility and a sense of others, as the people of Qatar are known for their quick response to providing relief to the needy and answering the call.

The program provides an opportunity for young people to launch humanitarian projects and follow various standards and models in this regard, as well as mechanisms and methods for implementing projects and submitting special reports to donors and stakeholders.

Participants in the program will be able to experience realistic experiences through technical field visits that complement the theoretical experience, and carry out the technical procedures followed in terms of analyzing needs and collecting information, in addition to following up and evaluating the implemented projects and submitting technical reports thereon.

Participants will be selected through specific criteria and selection mechanisms, and personal interviews with a specialized committee. The program will include training courses and external field trips.
