On the morning of Monday, September 11th, the Ministry of Sports and Youth launched the Sports Clubs Procedures Guide with the aim of improving financial and administrative procedures and enhancing governance principles in the sports sector. During a ceremony held at the headquarters of Al-Arabi Sports Club, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanem Al-Ali, Minister of Sports and Youth, the management of Al-Arabi Sports Club, and a number of specialists in the sports field. This is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and in accordance with its strategic plan to provide work systems and guidance manuals.

The ministry launched the Sports Clubs Procedures Guide, making Al-Arabi Sports Club the first Qatari club to adopt a procedures guide for sports clubs in Qatar.

Mr. Hamad Jaber Al-Athba, Director of the Financial and Administrative Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Project Manager, stated that the Sports Clubs Procedures Guide represents a precedent in the region. Qatar is considered one of the first countries to launch a guide that documents the procedures of sports clubs according to the best practices followed locally and globally.

He added that the project aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations conducted in sports clubs by clarifying the procedures, their steps, responsibilities, and completion times. A team was formed consisting of the Financial and Administrative Affairs Department, the Sports Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and the management of Al-Arabi Sports Club.

Mr. Al-Athba explained that the Sports Clubs Procedures Guide aims to develop work regulations and procedures manuals for sports clubs within the state of Qatar. This is in line with the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s efforts to apply principles of institutional excellence in clubs and support them in improving administrative efficiency, leading to excellence in various areas of operation.

The project manager also pointed out that the ministry has extended invitations to all sports clubs in the country to align with and implement the project, using it as a supportive guidance manual for the organizational structure within the state’s clubs starting from early October.

In turn, Mr. Ahmed Hussein Al-Ajeel, the General Manager of Al-Arabi Sports Club, expressed his satisfaction with the launch of the Al-Arabi Club Procedures Guide and the selection of “Al-Arabi” to serve as a model for implementing this guide. He welcomed cooperation to enhance financial and administrative procedures and elevate the quality of institutional work.

Al-Ajeel praised the efforts of the Ministry of Sports and Youth in facilitating procedures for clubs to play an active role in developing this sector. He also commended the Ministry’s vision, dedication, and deep understanding of the importance of sports and its role in society.
