In line with the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s vision to empower and support the presence of Qatari youth in regional and international organizations, and recognizing the need for sustainable and influential youth representation on international platforms, as well as in response to the strong registration turnout for the Qatar Youth Delegates to the United Nations Program and the high level demonstrated by the youth during the personal interviews for the program, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized the introductory meeting for the second cohort of the program.

The training courses for the second cohort are scheduled to begin immediately after the Eid al-Adha holiday, starting from June 15, 2025, and continuing until July 1, 2025. Twenty-six participants will be trained during this cohort, bringing the total number of participants in both cohorts to 52 young men and women, in a step aimed at expanding the distinguished base of Qatari youth participation.

During the meeting, Mr. Fawaz Abdullah Al-Musaifri, Director of the Youth Affairs Department, expressed his pride in the high level demonstrated by the youth selected to participate in this course. He affirmed that the ministry is proud of the Qatari youth generation, who showed enthusiasm, commitment, and readiness to represent their country at the highest international forums. He added:
“What we have witnessed in terms of awareness and ambition among the participants reflects the success of the national vision in building a conscious, capable generation who believes in their role in serving their country. At the Ministry of Sports and Youth, we believe that investing in youth is investing in the future of Qatar, and we work diligently to provide a supportive environment that enables them to excel and lead.”

On his part, Mr. Rashid Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Qatar Youth Delegates to the United Nations Program, confirmed that the team has completed all preparations for the launch of the second cohort of the program. He pointed out that this cohort will receive the same level of support and training as the first cohort. He said:
“We are committed to providing a fair and equal training experience for all participants, focusing on developing diplomatic, leadership, and international communication skills to ensure Qatar is honorably represented at the UN forums. We look forward to this cohort being a successful continuation of what we started with the first cohort.”

Mr. Ahmed bin Tariq Fakhro, Head of the United Nations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ International Organizations Division, affirmed that the Qatar Youth Delegates to the United Nations Program embodies the state’s vision of building a sustainable model to empower Qatari youth on international platforms, based on its belief in the importance of investing in their energies and providing real spaces for their contribution to multilateral international work.

In this context, he indicated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is keen to support this distinguished program as a strategic national platform to qualify youth in the fields of international politics and multilateral diplomacy. He confirmed ongoing cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth in developing the program, reflecting the state’s commitment to enhancing the presence of Qatari youth in international organizations and empowering them as effective partners in implementing Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Qatar Youth Delegates to the United Nations Program represents a strategic step by the State of Qatar to enhance its global leadership role in youth empowerment, demonstrating the state’s commitment to building the capacities of Qatari youth, enhancing their skills, fostering effective youth participation at national, regional, and international levels, and providing greater opportunities to build sustainable relationships between Qatari youth and their peers from various countries to exchange experiences and consolidate the presence of Qatari youth on the international stage.
