The Qatar Sports for All Federation has announced the launch of a training program to teach self-defense through Muay Thai for beginners at the clubs of Muaither, Al Sailiya, and Al Shamal. The program will run from September 22 to October 23.

The Federation, in collaboration with sports clubs, aims to develop self-defense skills and abilities among boys and youth, as well as promote the sport under the supervision of specialized trainers. The training sessions are scheduled throughout the week: at Muaither Club on Sundays from 6 to 7 p.m., at Al Sailiya Club on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and at Al Shamal Club on Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. Registration for the program is available through the Qatar Sports for All Federation app, which provides all the details to facilitate joining and participating in various activities and events.

Abdullah Al-Dosari, Head of Activities and Events at the Federation, emphasized the importance of providing more opportunities for young people to learn and practice Muay Thai, as well as promoting sports culture through participating clubs. He added that this training program is part of the Federation’s plan to introduce and promote training and educational programs for modern sports that have recently gained popularity. This program builds on the success and strong engagement seen in previous editions at various clubs and youth centers.

Al-Dosari also highlighted the success of the 2024 Sports for All summer program in teaching Muay Thai, which saw significant participation, with 1,223 boys aged 7 to 18 enrolled in a comprehensive program across clubs such as Al Arabi, Qatar, Al Gharafa, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Al Sailiya, and youth centers in Al Dhakhira, Simaisma, and Al Dhaaen, in cooperation with youth committees in these clubs and centers.
