The organizing committee for the second edition of the Thumama Ramadan Championship held a press conference at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, attended by Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, Hassan bin Ali Al-Ishaq, Member of the Municipal Council and Chairman of the Championship’s Organizing Committee, and Yusuf bin Ali Abdulnoor, Tournament Manager, to reveal its details.

The tournament, which is for the age group 10 to 14 years, will take place at Al-Furjan Stadium in the Thumama area. Registration for the event began last Thursday and will continue until February 25th through the Qatar Sports for All Federation’s application. Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari expressed his happiness with the collaboration with the people of Thumama to utilize the sports facility in their area, highlighting the importance of integrating the efforts of all parties to make the best use of young people’s free time and channel their energy into sports.

For his part, Hassan bin Ali Al-Ishaq thanked the Qatar Sports for All Federation for their cooperation in organizing the championship, which is open to everyone.

Regarding the financial prizes for the tournament, Al-Ishaq clarified that QR 7,000 has been allocated to the first-place winner, in addition to the championship cup and gold medals. The second-place winner will receive QR 5,000 and silver medals, while the third-place winner will get QR 3,000 and bronze medals. There will also be special awards for the best player, top scorer, best goalkeeper, and the most disciplined team.

Yusuf bin Ali Abdulnoor, the tournament manager, emphasized the importance of the Thumama Ramadan Championship, as it contributes to discovering football talents in Qatar. Regarding the general conditions for participation, Abdulnoor stated that the number of players in each team should not exceed 15 and should not be less than 9. Additionally, each team must include at least two Qatari players.
