Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports for All Federation announced today at a press conference held at the Ministry’s headquarters, the launch of the new edition of the 2024 Sealine Challenge Race, set to take place on September 28th in the Sealine area, with 400 participants.

This race is the third in a series of desert races in Qatar, which includes the Zubara Challenge, the Fuwairit Challenge, and the Al Wakra Challenge.

The Federation detailed that the race is open to men and women of all ages, from children, youth, and adults aged 3 years and above. It includes 4 distances: 800 meters for children, and 3, 5, and 10 kilometers for other categories.

The race will take place on a single track back and forth, with only the distance varying depending on the category, providing participants with a unique experience amidst nature and sand dunes.

In this context, Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Head of Activities and Events at the Qatar Sports for All Federation, stated that the starting point of the race in Sealine will be at 4:00 PM at the second roundabout near the Sealine Resort, heading towards the desert area, and then returning to the starting point.

He noted that participation and registration for the race will be available to all ages through the Qatar Sports for All Federation app, and all applicants will be accommodated as was the case in previous races.

Mr. Al-Dosari explained that the launch of these races aims to reach as many sports enthusiasts as possible, especially those who love running.

He added that the Desert Trails Challenge series serves an important segment of young people who practice running and marathons, providing them with competitive environments that help improve their skills and gain cumulative experience.

Mr. Al-Dosari highlighted that the Qatar Sports for All Federation organizes a large number of races, totaling more than 30 running and marathon events throughout the year, ranging from major races to weekly races held in public parks.
