The third edition of the “Ekbs” Beach Volleyball Championship, held at the Old Doha Port, continued today with exciting matches. The championship, which is taking place in the Old Doha Port Park until March 14, is witnessing the participation of 12 teams.
The results of today’s matches were as follows:
- Mango Steen defeated Vikona in straight sets, 21-12 and 21-19.
- Police College won against Mareekh in a three-set match, 21-15, 15-21, and 15-21.
- Al-Murqab beat Al-Wakra in straight sets, 21-14 and 21-15.
The teams will have a rest tomorrow, Monday, and will resume competition on Tuesday, with the second stage of the tournament. The teams will enter knockout matches, and the winners will advance to the semifinals, which will take place on Wednesday evening. The final match will be held on Friday, March 14.
Feisal Khalid Al-Otaibi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, praised the role of the Old Doha Port in hosting this third edition, emphasizing their tremendous support for the organizing committee and all participating teams. He acknowledged the port’s efforts in overcoming challenges and making this edition a standout event in the history of the “Ekbs” Championship and all Ramadan tournaments.
Al-Otaibi encouraged all members of the Qatari community to attend and enjoy the Ramadan atmosphere of the tournament and the accompanying events, which are suitable for all ages.
The organizing committee has allocated a total of 100,000 Qatari riyals in prize money for the top three positions. The champion will receive 50,000 Qatari riyals, the runner-up will get 30,000 Qatari riyals, and the third-place winner will receive 20,000 Qatari riyals.
