Public parks across Qatar are witnessing a daily increase in community participation and engagement in the “365 Days of Activity” program. Many locations and green spaces are being transformed into sports arenas, thanks to the growing interest from people of all age groups who are actively taking part in the program’s schedule. The initiative is organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation, under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and reflects a rising public awareness of the importance of physical activity and regular exercise in daily life.
This free, daily program attracts all segments of society, men, women, children, and even senior citizens. Open to everyone, it provides an appealing sporting environment year-round. Activities are available for participants aged 7 to 65, offering a variety of training sessions that combine fitness, entertainment, and significant health benefits for those who engage in regular physical activity.
The Sports for All Federation is committed to hosting daily events in multiple public parks to accommodate the largest number of participants. Al Luqta Park and Oxygen Park host dedicated women’s training sessions in a secure and private setting from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, while Aspire Park, Al Rayyan Park, and Al Gharrafa Park host men’s sessions from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. All training sessions are supervised by a team of qualified coaches, including female trainers for the women’s sessions.
The program includes a wide variety of sports and physical activities, as well as competitive events such as push-up contests, long jump, ball throwing, and balance and flexibility training. It also features fitness championships for all age groups, including strength challenges (throwing a 5 kg ball into a designated area), speed challenges (50-meter sprint races), and endurance tests (plank hold for the longest duration). The Federation strives to diversify the events to attract more participants and encourage long-term commitment to physical fitness.
The “365 Days of Activity” program is a key component of the Qatar Sports for All Federation’s annual plan to promote a culture of physical activity in society. The yearly calendar includes over 750 events and tournaments, with participation accessible through the Federation’s dedicated mobile app, which allows the public to join various activities easily. This inclusive and accessible initiative has successfully helped many people engage in regular physical activity in public parks. Organizers highlight that the strong turnout across age groups reflects the value of this pioneering initiative and contributes to building a healthy, active society. It also aligns with the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s goals to spread the culture of sports and encourage regular physical exercise among the population.
