The 16th edition of the School Robotic Competition was launched in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth. The competition is organized by the Qatari Scientific Club under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and with support from the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund (DAAM).

This year, more than 700 teams representing over 200 government and private schools participated in the championship, marking a 35% increase in participants compared to last year. His Excellency the Minister toured the exhibition with Ms. Maha Zayed Al-Ruwaili, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, along with several officials and department directors at the 7th Scientific Exhibition accompanying the championship, showcasing the research and innovations of participating students in the (Researcher and Innovator) competitions.

The School Robotic Competition includes traditional competitions held annually, such as the Robot for Juniors (Discovery), Robot for Juniors (Explorer), Line Tracking with its Beginner and Advanced sections, Ball Collection with its Beginner and Advanced sections, Sumo Competition with its Beginner and Advanced sections, Innovation Competition (Research and Programming), and the FLL Competition.

In this context, Ms. Maha Zayed Al-Ruwaili stated that the challenge and competition tracks are the best way to showcase the competitors’ abilities, highlight their skills, and refine them. She emphasized that this school championship is one of the most important events of its kind, demonstrating outstanding capabilities of the students as evidenced by previous editions.
