The “Swimming for All” summer programme, organized by the Qatar Sports For All Federation under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth at Al Arabi and Al Wakrah clubs, has attracted strong participation from boys and girls aged 3 to 11 years, with outstanding family support encouraging children to learn swimming and make the most of the summer vacation through sports and physical activity.

Swimming lessons are being held as part of the “Sport for All Summer 2026” programme, organized by the Federation in cooperation with a number of ministries, authorities and institutions. The swimming programme aims to develop children’s abilities and equip them with fundamental swimming skills by providing a safe and motivating training environment that promotes healthy lifestyles within the community.

The training sessions continue under the supervision of specialized coaches. Training for boys is held at Al Wakrah Club from Sunday to Wednesday, while sessions designated for girls are held from Saturday to Thursday in a safe training environment that observes safety standards and ensures privacy.

Mr. Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports For All Federation, said that the strong turnout for the “Swimming for All” summer programme since the launch of the training sessions reflects families’ interest and eagerness to teach their sons and daughters the sport of swimming and benefit from the sports programmes offered by the Federation during the summer vacation. He noted that the high demand has contributed to expanding the programme to include the swimming pool at Al Wakrah Sports Club, following a strong start at Al Arabi Club, in order to accommodate the growing number of participants and provide the opportunity for a larger number of children to take part in and benefit from the programme.

Al Dosari affirmed that Al Wakrah Club’s participation in hosting the training sessions reflects the Federation’s commitment to reaching the largest possible number of children and providing diverse options for families to enhance community participation in sports activities. He explained that the “Swimming for All” programme is not limited to teaching children the basic skills of swimming, but also represents an opportunity to identify promising talents through training that combines sporting, educational and developmental aspects, with continuous follow-up by parents, reflecting the growing awareness of the importance of sport and its role in building children’s character, enhancing self-confidence, and encouraging the adoption of a healthy and active lifestyle from an early age.

The “Swimming for All” programme will continue for six weeks according to separate schedules for boys and girls, within the framework of the Qatar Sports For All Federation’s vision to expand participation in sport, promote a culture of physical activity within the community, and make productive use of the summer vacation.
