Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club organized yesterday the Muaither Cup race meeting, which consisted of eight races held at Al Rayyan Racecourse, with the participation of a large number of horses from various categories.

The main Cup race was not the final race of the meeting; instead, the Muaither Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses was contested in the sixth race. The race was run under the Handicap category (Rating 80–100) for horses aged four years and above, over a distance of 1700 meters.
The Cup was won by “Sun Amer”, owned by Khalid Mohammed Sultan Al-Harami, after an intense duel with “Salwa” (Kalino). “Sun Amer” managed to overtake his rival in the final seconds to secure victory by a head margin, under the supervision of trainer Badr Al-Balushi and ridden by jockey Soufiane Saadi.

Following the race, Rashid Saeed Odaiba, Head of the Racing Organization Department at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club, presented the Cup to the winners.

In the remaining races of the meeting, the first race was won by Thunder Valley, owned by Maryam Abdulrahman Yousef Murad Al-Jaber, trained by Hadi Al-Ramzani, and ridden by Arnaud De Louben.

The second race saw Nahar, owned by Al-Hajjaj Farm, take first place under trainer Hamad Al-Jehani and jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot.

The third race was won by Fathi, owned by Mohammed Abdullah Mubarak Abdulaziz Al-Dulaimi, trained by Fahad Rashid Al-Khayarin, and ridden by Saleh Salem Al-Marri. The margin between the second horse “Saroog Al-Shahaniya” and the third “Za’al Al-Shahaniya” was also a neck, following a tight finish that required the photo finish camera to determine the placings.

The fourth race was claimed by Lodod Ghan, owned by Khalid Nasser Abdullah Hamad Al-Attiyah, trained by Jassim Al-Ghazali, and ridden by Saleh Salem Al-Marri.

In the fifth race, Kafalat, owned by Hassan Ali Abdulmalik Al-Abdulmalik, secured first place under trainer Ahmed Qubaisi and jockey Mohammed Hassan Ali Al-Abdulmalik.

After the main Cup race, the seventh race was held, in which Suhail Qatar, owned by Atiq Hamad Atiq Mohammed Al-Marri, won first place under the supervision of trainer Abdulaziz Hamad Atiq Al-Marri and ridden by Saleh Salem Al-Marri.

The eighth and final race concluded with Zayer Al-Shahaniya, owned and trained by Osama Omar Ismail Al-Dafaa, taking first place under jockey Faleh Bougnem.
