The “Swimming for All” Summer Program, designed for children aged 7 to 12 years, has attracted strong participation since its launch at Al Arabi Sports Club, with enthusiastic attendance and remarkable family support. Parents have shown a strong commitment to encouraging their children to learn swimming, develop new skills, and make productive use of their summer vacation through sports and physical activity.
The swimming lessons are part of the Sports for All Summer Program 2026, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation, a partner of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in cooperation with a number of ministries, authorities, and institutions. The swimming program aims to develop children’s abilities and equip them with essential swimming skills by providing a safe and motivating training environment that promotes healthy lifestyles within the community.
Training sessions at Al Arabi Sports Club are conducted under the supervision of qualified coaches. Boys’ sessions are held from Sunday to Wednesday, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Girls’ sessions take place on Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday in two morning periods: 9:00–10:00 a.m. and 10:00–11:00 a.m., in a secure training environment that ensures both safety and privacy.
Mr. Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, announced that the summer swimming program has also expanded to include the swimming pool at Al Wakrah Sports Club, beginning on Sunday, 5 July, as part of the federation’s plan to enable a larger number of children to benefit from the program.
At Al Wakrah Sports Club, boys’ training sessions will be held from Sunday to Wednesday, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., while girls’ sessions will run from Saturday to Thursday. The training program will continue until 16 July to accommodate the growing demand and the increasing interest from families in enrolling their children in swimming lessons.
Al Dosari explained that the summer swimming program goes beyond teaching basic swimming techniques. It also provides an opportunity to identify and develop promising young talents through specialized training that combines educational and developmental aspects, helping to prepare a generation that is confident, physically fit, and equipped with strong athletic abilities and skills.
He added that the program also aims to make effective use of children’s free time during the summer by encouraging participation in one of the healthiest sports. He noted that the program has received strong family support, with parents regularly attending and following their children’s progress, reflecting the important role families play in promoting a culture of sports and encouraging healthy, active lifestyles from an early age.
The swimming program will continue for six weeks, following separate schedules for boys and girls, as part of the Qatar Sports for All Federation’s vision to expand sports participation across the community and promote physical activity among people of all age groups.
