The pool of the Al Arabi Sports Club hosted the Sports for All Swimming Championship for Qatari children aged 13–17, held last Saturday in an atmosphere of excitement and competition. The event is part of the swimming education programs organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
The championship began at 4:00 PM and lasted for two hours until 6:00 PM, with notable participation from children and their families. Many parents attended to support and encourage their children, creating a strong family-oriented environment within a safe setting supervised by qualified coaches.
Participants showcased their skills and competitive spirit, demonstrating strong swimming abilities and striving to perform at their best. The event revealed several promising young talents with solid technique and performance in swimming disciplines. At the end of the competition, winners were awarded medals and prizes. Faisal Abdullah Al Abdullah won first place in freestyle and backstroke events, while Salem Jassim Al Jaber secured second place.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, praised Al Arabi Sports Club for its continuous commitment to supporting the federation in delivering swimming training programs and organizing specialized competitions for swimming enthusiasts. He noted that the strong engagement from families and the enthusiasm of children reflect the success of the federation’s initiatives aimed at meeting community aspirations.
He described the championship as an important step toward promoting community sports culture, developing young talents, boosting self-confidence, improving physical fitness, and encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle. He also emphasized its role in preparing a confident generation capable of facing challenges through a balanced environment that combines learning, enjoyment, and benefit.
Al-Dosari announced that another swimming championship will be held at Al Wakrah Sports Club on the 6th of next month to accommodate the growing number of swimming enthusiasts, in response to increasing registration through the Sports for All app. He reaffirmed that swimming remains an important activity for improving fitness and promoting healthy lifestyles from an early age.
Parents and participants expressed their desire for such training-based swimming competitions to continue throughout the year, highlighting their positive physical and psychological impact on children, as well as their role in instilling a love for sports from a young age.
