The second week of the Sports for All Summer Camp for Children, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, gets underway this morning (Monday) at Lusail Sports Hall. The camp, which is open to boys and girls aged 7–11, has attracted strong interest, with approximately 320 childrenparticipating during its first week.
The first phase of the camp runs for two weeks, with activities taking place from Monday to Thursday. The program features a wide range of sports, educational, and awareness activities designed to develop children’s physical and mental abilities, encourage positive behavior, and promote the values of teamwork and cooperation. The summer camp extends over eight weeks, divided into four two-week phases, and offers a diverse schedule of sports and recreational activities, including speed and strength training, movement-based games, small-sided football matches, Muay Thai self-defense training, stretching, flexibility and balance exercises, table tennis, as well as educational and awareness programs.
Mr. Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, said the summer camp has enjoyed an excellent start at Lusail Sports Hall, receiving remarkable interest and participation from both children and their families. He noted that this reflects growing community awareness of the importance of physical activity for children and the value of making productive use of the summer break through sports and positive social engagement.
He added that the camp has become a vibrant sporting and recreational space, offering a variety of activities that appeal to children. The program combines movement-based games, sports challenges, group competitions, and educational and recreational activities, all carefully designed to suit this age group while developing physical and mental skills, strengthening teamwork, and building self-confidence.
Al Dosari also highlighted the strong family presence during the first week, noting that many parents accompanied their children to the sports hall, with some staying to watch the activities, which begin at 9:00 a.m. Throughout the sessions, children demonstrated great enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, and a willingness to try new experiences, creating an energetic and lively atmosphere.
The summer camp is one of the flagship initiatives of the Sports for All Summer 2026 program. It provides children with an ideal opportunity to make the most of their summer break through high-quality activities that develop their motor and social skills while reinforcing the concept of sport as a way of life. The program continues to promote physical activity, encourage healthy habits from an early age, and provide children with a safe, engaging environment that combines learning with fun, making the camp a preferred sporting and social destination for families during the summer holidays.
