The Qatar Sports for All Federation, operating under the guidance of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, organized a new round of the “Your Healthy Weight” program, which this time was dedicated to the male and female employees of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal). The two-day event took place at Ashghal’s headquarters in Palm Tower and on Salwa Road, as part of the “You Can Do It” competition, which Ashghal has been organizing for the eighth consecutive season.
This initiative comes within the Federation’s innovative plans and programs for workplace sports in 2025, aimed at promoting public health and encouraging an active lifestyle in the work environment.
The “Your Healthy Weight” activities for women began at 9:00 a.m and continued until 11:00 a.m in a completely private setting. The event saw strong participation from female employees representing various departments at Ashghal. The program included different biometric measurements.
With the same level of enthusiasm and engagement, the men’s session took place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m, featuring blood pressure, blood sugar, and fitness assessments, as well as guidance on improving muscular strength, flexibility, and endurance. All examinations and training sessions were conducted under the supervision of specialized medical teams and professional trainers.
Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, affirmed that the “Your Healthy Weight”program reflects the Federation’s commitment to workplace sports, targeting employees in ministries and government bodies to create a healthy, dynamic, and active work environment. He noted that the program provides many benefits and enjoys strong participation thanks to the medical and fitness follow-ups it offers, along with expert advice that helps participants get — or stay — on the right track toward a healthier lifestyle through regular exercise.
The Executive Director further explained that “Your Healthy Weight” aligns with the Federation’s mission to serve the community by promoting awareness of sports culture and encouraging consistent physical activity, making sports a way of life in society.
Through its 2025 events calendar, which includes over 750 diverse activities and programs, the Federation aims to reach all age groups in society, tailoring events to each group’s needs and interests in line with its strategy to build an active and healthy community.
The Federation also organizes special events marking international days such as Diabetes Day, Autism Awareness Day, and the International Day for Older Persons, among others, selecting suitable activities for each group to raise awareness of the importance of sports as a lifestyle and to encourage community participation in sports, physical, and health-related activities.
The “Your Healthy Weight” program provides employees with a comprehensive set of biometric measurements covering muscle mass, fat percentage, body water, bone mass, and determining obesity levels, along with guidance on healthy ways to lose excess weight through adopting a balanced and active lifestyle based on regular physical activity.
