The Old Doha Port will host the Sports for All Night Race 2026 (Night Run for All), organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation in affiliation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in collaboration with Agora Sport, Old Doha Port, and Qatar Calendar. The race is part of a series of distinctive events offered by the federation to various segments of society, with the aim of promoting a culture of sports participation.
The upcoming edition will take place at the end of this month, with the participation of large numbers of male and female runners from different age groups, adding to the figures achieved by the inaugural edition last year. Accompanying activities will begin at 3:00 pm and continue until 10:00 pm. The starting point will be from the Old Doha Port parking area on the eastern side, with the race route passing through the commercial district and the running track, reaching the giant ship docking area at the port, and then returning along the same route. The race uniquely combines sport and tourism, offering participants of all nationalities an exceptional sporting and recreational experience.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, the Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, announced that the race has been divided into two levels, covering various age categories—from children aged three years up to participants over forty—through open, masters, intermediate, youth, and junior categories. The first level includes races over 1 km and 1.6 km, while the second level covers a distance of 5 km, in addition to a special 400-meter race for children. The competitions will be held in a distinctive competitive atmosphere, followed by the awarding of medals and prizes to the top three finishers in each category. All participants who complete the race distances will also be honored, encouraging them to continue engaging in sports.
Al-Dosari emphasized that the night race represents a successful and distinctive experience, both in terms of participation turnout and the vibrant venue hosting the event for the second time. He noted that the first edition saw the participation of 811 male and female runners from various ages and nationalities, and that the family-friendly atmosphere added a special character to the event, making it a valuable addition to the Sports for All calendar of sporting and recreational activities.
The Sports for All Federation, in cooperation with its partners, is preparing to launch many innovative and diverse sporting events in the coming period, aiming to attract the largest possible number of sports participants and make optimal use of Qatar’s rich sporting and tourist destinations. The federation has consistently organized races that meet the aspirations of running enthusiasts, such as the Qatar Ultra Marathon from East to West, the Dheeb Race, Brouq Race, and the Desert Trails Series, which includes the challenges of Al Zubarah, Fuwairit, Sealine, Al Wakrah, and Al Khor. All these events continue to witness growing participation, contributing to strengthening the spirit of competition and supporting the federation’s goals and mission of spreading sports culture, expanding community participation, and encouraging regular physical activity.
