Preparations have been completed at the headquarters of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, a partner of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, to launch the second edition of the Night Running Race “Night Run for All” next Saturday, in cooperation with the Old Doha Port, Agora Sport, and Qatar Calendar, and in partnership with 19 other entities. The race will start at 6:00 pm, with activities continuing until 10:00 pm. The night run is part of a series of distinctive and high-quality races organized by the Sports for All Federation and falls within a broader program of diverse sporting events targeting various segments of society, as part of an annual calendar that includes more than 800 events, activities, and championships.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Sports for All Federation, explained that the starting point will be from the parking area of the Old Doha Port on the eastern side, passing through the commercial district and the running track, and reaching the area designated for docking giant ships. The out-and-back course highlights the port’s touristic and sporting character. The new edition is expected to witness wide participation, with 1,350 male and female runners from different age groups, compared to 811 participants in the first edition last year. He added that the race will be divided into two levels: the first covers a distance of 1km, designated for four age categories, while the second level includes a 5km race for three age categories. The top three finishers in each category will receive medals and prizes, and all participants who complete the race distances will be honored to encourage them to continue practicing physical activity. Al-Dosari expressed his hope that the race will become a distinctive highlight on the Sports for All agenda for 2026 and an opportunity to benefit from the sports and tourism destinations that Qatar offers.

The Night Run at the Old Doha Port is considered one of the most distinctive and unique races in the State of Qatar, held in the evening along the Doha Corniche. Through continuous efforts in cooperation with its partners, the Federation aims to engage the largest possible segment of children, youth, and families, and to enhance community participation in sports activities by offering a wide range of innovative and diverse sporting events in the coming period. The goal is to attract as many participants as possible and make optimal use of Qatar’s sports and tourism destinations. The Sports for All Federation has become known for organizing races that cater to everyone—especially running enthusiasts—such as the Qatar Ultramarathon from East to West (90 km), the Theeb Race, the Brouq Race, and the Trails and Desert Routes Series, which includes Al Zubarah, Fuwairit, Sealine, Al Wakrah, and Al Khor challenges. All of these events have seen increasing participation, contributing to the enhancement of competitiveness and community engagement, in line with the Federation’s mission to spread a culture of sports participation across all segments of society, expand community involvement, and encourage regular and sustained physical activity.
