The Qatar Sports for All Federation, an affiliate of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, has announced the completion of all preparations for the launch of the first edition of the “Brouq Trail Race,” scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday, at the Brouq Nature Reserve. The race will feature the participation of 800 male and female runners of various nationalities. The event will run from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., serving as the main highlight of the “Ras Brouq Season,” organized by Visit Qatar in cooperation with Agora Sport for sports events.

The announcement was made during a press conference held yesterday afternoon at Doha Oasis, attended by Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, along with a representative of Agora Sport, and members of various media outlets. During the conference, the race details, objectives, and accompanying activities were presented. As part of promoting and highlighting the event, ten male and female ambassadors—champions and influencers in community sports in Qatar and running enthusiasts—were announced. They include Fahad Badar, Ibrahim Al-Harami, Khalid Al-Ameri, Faisal Al-Zaman, Abdullah Al-Hamidi, Mubarak Al Khalifa, as well as race ambassadors Eman Al-Jarjawi, Alaa Naif, Sara Talia, and Asmaa Al Thani. The attending ambassadors, along with the event’s success partners, were honored during the conference.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari explained that the “Brouq Trail Race” is being held for the first time in one of Qatar’s most beautiful natural reserves, offering a unique sporting experience that combines challenge, adventure, and enjoyment of nature. He noted that the race represents a strong and distinctive start to the Federation’s calendar of high-quality events at the beginning of 2026. The race includes several distances—15 km, 10 km, and 5 km—for age groups from 17 years to 40 years and above, in addition to a special 1 km race for children aged 3 to 6 years. The distances were carefully designed to accommodate different abilities and age groups, ensuring inclusive participation in a safe and motivating environment.

Al-Dosari added that the race route will feature cultural showcases, environmental initiatives, and a variety of interactive activities, enhancing the value of the event as an integrated sports and cultural celebration that highlights Qatar’s natural and environmental heritage and reinforces the concept of sport as a lifestyle for all members of society. He pointed out that the course was meticulously designed to offer participants an exciting adventure through diverse trails featuring unique geological formations and stunning desert landscapes, catering to different age groups and fitness levels, whether professional runners, amateurs, or those seeking a distinctive sporting and recreational experience.

The Executive Director emphasized that the event is not limited to the race itself, but also includes a range of accompanying activities such as sports and recreational programs, stationary cycling, interactive games for children, short races, and a dedicated warm-up area. Participants will also enjoy free access to the activities of the “Ras Brouq” season. He confirmed that the race is open to the widest possible segment of the community, noting that the “Brouq Trail” is considered one of the most prominent trail races within the framework of ongoing cooperation with Agora Sport, which has contributed to organizing several outstanding races.

Al-Dosari concluded by expressing his hope that all family members will take part in this inaugural edition, whether by supporting their children or participating in the competition themselves, in order to realize the concept of “Sport for All.” He stressed that the race carries a distinctive traditional and heritage character and is held in an area of special historical and environmental significance to Qatari society, which enjoys wide popularity as a host for sports and community events.
