The Qatar Sports for All Federation has announced the 2024 Sports for All Summer Race Series, which will consist of four races organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and Youth during the months of September and October. Registration for the four races is now open through the Qatar Sports for All Federation’s app. The first race will take place on September 6 at Al Rayyan Park, followed by the second race on September 13 at Al Muntazah Park. The third race is scheduled for September 27 at Aspire Park, and the final race will be held at Oxygen Park on October 4. All races will be held in the evening.
The Summer Race Series follows the completion of the 2024 Sports for All summer program, which concluded last Thursday, August 15, after eight weeks of activities filled with energy and excitement. The program, which began on June 23, was successful and attracted significant participation throughout its various events. The Summer Race Series represents a continuation of the activities organized by the Sports for All Federation during the summer, reaffirming the federation’s commitment to providing more sports activities that encourage all members of society to remain engaged in physical activity during the summer months.
The four races highlight the value and importance of the relationship between the Sports for All Federation and its active partners, who are committed to providing a calendar full of dynamic and competitive activities. This collaboration supports community sports in Qatar, with a variety of supporting entities contributing to spreading these activities across the country. Al Rayyan Park, for instance, has consistently welcomed and hosted Sports for All activities, while Oxygen Park remains a key venue on the Sports for All calendar. Aspire Park has also been a dedicated host for the federation’s events, and Al Muntazah Park will host the second race in the 2024 Summer Race Series.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Head of Activities and Events at the Qatar Sports for All Federation, expressed his gratitude to the supporting entities and partners for helping organize this race series. He acknowledged the significant efforts made by the Ministry of Municipality, the Public Works Authority, and Qatar Foundation in preparing public parks to host the races, which are expected to attract large numbers of participants. Al-Dosari emphasized the federation’s appreciation for these entities and their role in the success of Sports for All activities held in public parks throughout the year, including the “365 Days of Activity” program, which takes place daily in well-equipped parks that are open to all members of the community.
Al-Dosari also invited people to participate in these races and to continue engaging in physical activity, emphasizing the federation’s interest in catering to fans of running and racing. The Summer Race Series adds real value to the more than 30 races and marathons organized by the federation throughout the year. In addition, the federation holds a variety of other events that include smaller running races. The Qatar Sports for All Federation places particular importance on running races, which allow large numbers of participants from various age groups to take part. These races are held throughout most of the year and are a permanent feature of the annual Sports for All calendar, which includes more than 720 sports and community events this year.
