The Qatar Sports for All Federation, a partner of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, completed its 2025 calendar, which included more than 750 sports events and championships covering all aspects of community sports. These activities were held across sports fields, schools, open squares, halls and indoor arenas, beaches, desert areas, green spaces in public parks, running tracks, and cycling routes, spanning all geographical directions of Qatar. Carrying the message of Sports for All, the diverse events attracted large numbers of community members—citizens and residents alike—of various ages and nationalities.

Sports for All activities continued to demonstrate strong inclusivity up to the final day of 2025, with a clear focus on all social segments through the programs and events that concluded the federation’s calendar for the year. The past year witnessed significant expansion in Sports for All initiatives through a wide range of activities organized by the federation, reflecting its commitment to opening participation opportunities for all members of society. This approach stems from a firm belief in the importance of spreading sports culture in the community, given its physical and psychological benefits. In this context, the 2025 calendar gave special attention to women by encouraging their participation in sports while respecting their privacy, through the “Ladies Evening” platform, organized in cooperation with Education City, which featured diverse sports activities for women and girls.

The Qatar Sports for All Federation also placed strong emphasis on providing opportunities for young children, as they represent the hope of the future. Accordingly, the 2025 calendar placed major focus on programs and activities for children. These included school visits featuring various sports and physical activities, as well as seasonal camps held during summer, winter, and autumn school breaks. These camps combined sports and recreational activities, with the most recent winter camp concluding at Lusail Sports Hall last Thursday afternoon. The camp’s closing was accompanied by a distinctive community initiative in cooperation with the “Hand in Hand” Center for Persons with Disabilities, through the organization of a special sports activity for males and females with disabilities and special needs of various ages. This initiative aimed to provide inclusive opportunities for this important segment of society, supporting their integration through participation in sports and social activities.

At the level of community events designed for entire families and all age groups, the Qatar Sports for All Federation organized a large number of distinctive races under various titles and on different occasions. The most prominent of these was Qatar’s longest race, the Qatar Ultra Marathon, covering a distance of 90 kilometers, starting from Doha Corniche in the east and finishing at Dukhan Beach in the west. Other notable races included the Dheeb Race, the global “One Run for All”event, and the Five Challenges Races held in Fuwairit, Al Zubarah, Al Wakrah, Sealine, and Al Khor, in addition to several other races hosted in public parks. These events allowed participation across all ages and categories, following specific classifications—from children’s races over 800 meters, to adult races starting from age 17 and extending to participants over 40 years old—ensuring the inclusion of all members of the community in sports activities.

With the arrival of the new year, Sports for All activities continue with the same strength, effectiveness, and wide reach, alongside ongoing efforts to open more sporting opportunities across Qatar. The 2026 season will begin tomorrow, Friday, with the Sports for All Launch Race at Al Muntazah Park, starting at 7:30 a.m. Participants aged 17 and above will compete over distances of 5 km and 2.5 km, while youth aged 7 to 16 will run 2.5 km. A special children’s race for ages 3 to 6 will cover 800 meters, in addition to a relay race featuring the father-and-son and mother-and-daughter categories.
