The Qatar Sports for All Federation announced under the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth the details of the organization of the Al Samariya Running Challenge, which will include 400 contestants and will be the starting point around the Sheikh Faisal bin Qasim Al Thani Museum, and the Samariya Farm, passing through the Ory and Horse Gardens with a 3.3-kilometer track.
The Federation declared in a statement that this family challenge comes from the interest in community sports, and the diversification of sports events, to provide the chance for all members of the community to exercise and accomplish physical activity, continuously. The race competitions start at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow on Friday, and it is held according to the time system for the different categories, as it includes 3 time periods, lasting 90 minutes, 60 minutes, and 30 minutes.
The race is accompanied by some events, activities, and warm-up exercises, along with some games, such as tug-of-war, ground tennis, badminton, football, Tolly Match games, speed, flexibility, jumping, and softball, in addition to fitness classes, which will be held under the supervision of specialized trainers.
Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Head of Activities and Events at the Sports for All Federation, declared that the Al Samariya Challenge is a family race that brings the family together in one place, within an enjoyable nature atmosphere, while watching birds and animals, so that everyone can enjoy practicing sports activity in the open areas, in addition to visiting the Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani Museum, to learn about the heritage of our fathers and grandfathers.
He pointed out that registration to participate in the race will be available through the Qatar Sports for All Federation application, and that the conclusion of the race will witness the distribution of medals and encouragement prizes to the three winners in each category, in addition to everyone who managed to complete the race distances, to motivate everyone and encourage people to exercise.
