The activities of the School Summer Centers Program, organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with the participation of the Qatar Federation for Sports for All under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, have achieved a good level of participation amid distinguished sports and recreational atmospheres. This joint cooperation aims to support student activities during the summer vacation across several boys’ and girls’ schools.
The activities take place in eight schools, aiming to involve as many beneficiaries as possible, and will continue until August 7th, the closing date of the program. Families are keen to involve their children to benefit from the diverse activities, whether in terms of building physical skills or enhancing community engagement. The federation organizes its activities daily from Sunday to Wednesday during the morning hours, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, in four schools, including three girls’ schools: Amina Bint Wahb Secondary School, Al Khor Preparatory School, and Sawda Bint Zum’a Preparatory School, in addition to Khalifa Secondary School for boys. School yards transform into lively activity hubs.
The activities include a diverse set of sports and recreational programs that add excitement and interaction to the events. These include physical fitness exercises and warm-ups, football, basketball, volleyball, handball, self-defense skills, other movement games, and mini sports tournaments held at the end of each week. The contribution of Sports for All is not limited to these schools only but extends to others through daily Muay Thai training sessions supervised by specialized coaches. This is part of the overall summer centers program, which will conclude with a ceremony at Lusail Sports Hall to crown winners, honor outstanding participants, celebrate the spirit of participation and cooperation, and reinforce the program’s overarching goals of making sports an essential part of lifestyle and supporting positive community engagement.
Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Federation for Sports for All, said that the federation’s participation in the school summer centers activities, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, comes as part of the continuous expansion and development of the “Summer Sports for All 2025” program, which is witnessing increasing participation and achieving a distinguished presence that reflects the level of community interaction. This program is one of the distinguished and seasonal activities provided by the federation during the summer break, involving 28 entities from various ministries, institutions, and authorities. He pointed out that the activities organized by the federation meet the ambitions and interests of students, providing them with real opportunities to unleash their energies and skills in a safe and motivating environment. The summer centers in schools have become a model platform to promote this approach, offering an integrated educational and training environment.
