The Qatar Sports for All Federation, in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, continues to diversify and expand its sports and recreational programs for people with disabilities. These weekly activities attract a growing number of participants from the Autism Parents Platform, Shafallah Center, and “Yadan Bi Yad” Center.
The programs include four monthly sessions for the Autism Parents Platform held every Monday, Sunday sessions for Shafallah Center participants, and two monthly training sessions for “Yadan Bi Yad” participants. These initiatives reflect the federation’s community role and its ongoing efforts to support all segments of society and encourage continuous physical activity, with the goal of making sport a true “lifestyle.”
In the latest session held last Monday evening, participants from the Autism Parents Platform engaged in a variety of supervised activities led by federation coaches. The program included targeted physical exercises, awareness activities, and sports-based games such as ball games, obstacle jumping, “telli match” competitions, tug of war, fitness training, and movement-based games designed to stimulate children, enhance social interaction, and promote positive behavioral change away from traditional sedentary routines.
The session also included recreational segments aimed at releasing children’s energy and encouraging participation and interaction in a fun environment.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, stated that the federation continues to implement an integrated series of sports and recreational programs for Shafallah Center and the Autism Parents Platform. He explained that these programs are carefully designed to break daily routine and open new opportunities for movement and communication, with a special focus on people with disabilities.
He added that these efforts are part of a broader strategy aimed at reaching all segments of society, expanding participation in sports, and increasing the number of active participants. He also highlighted that the strong turnout across these programs reflects their success in attracting wide participation from different groups in society.
Al-Dosari praised the important role of parents in encouraging their children to engage in these activities, noting that their involvement contributes to positive behavioral changes, strengthens motivation for physical activity, and supports healthier daily lifestyles.
He reaffirmed that programs dedicated to people with disabilities are a key pillar in achieving sustained participation, improving both physical and mental health, and enhancing social inclusion. He emphasized the federation’s commitment to developing innovative initiatives, expanding partnerships across the country, and organizing diverse sports and community activities that reinforce the role of sport as a core societal value and encourage all community members to participate actively.
