Sports and Recreational Facilities Development Plan

The Ministry of Sports and Youth has announced plans to enhance sports and recreational facilities, including Al Furjan playgrounds across the country. Building on the near completion of the first phase, the second phase will involve the Assets and Projects Department replacing the artificial turf on 14 Al Furjan and other playgrounds. This effort aims to prepare the facilities for safe and suitable football play, ensuring the health and safety of users.

The playgrounds will reopen for use upon completion of the maintenance work, which is expected by August 2025. Once completed, Al Furjan playgrounds will be available for booking through the app. The upgraded facilities include playgrounds from first-division clubs, youth centers, and Al Furjan locations.

Playgrounds at first-division clubs:

• Al Wakrah Club Stadium No. 4

• Al Wakrah Club Stadium No. 5

Playgrounds at youth centers:

• Al Dhakhira Youth Center Stadium

• Al Kaaban Youth Center Stadium

Al Furjan playgrounds:

• Khalifa City Playground

• Umm Salal Playground

• Al Thumama Playground

• West Nuaija Playground
