Activities of the Sports for All Winter Camp were launched at Lusail Sports Hall for children aged 6 to 11. The camp is organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation, a partner of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, running from last Sunday until the end of the current week, in conjunction with the winter school holiday. The camp offers children the opportunity to enjoy a variety of sports and recreational activities provided throughout its duration. Activities are held daily from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and participation is available through the Qatar Sports for All Federation’s official application.

The winter camp includes a wide range of recreational segments and light sports exercises conducted under the supervision of specialized male and female coaches. All coaches are qualified to work with young children and possess appropriate training and experience gained through previous gatherings and camps held at Lusail Sports Hall, such as the summer camp last June and the autumn camp last October. The idea behind organizing the camp is to fill children’s free time during the winter holiday and ensure continuity of activity and vitality, particularly during the period that parallels the regular daily school schedule. This helps children maintain balanced levels of physical activity during the holiday.

The winter camp features an attractive and motivating program for children, delivered through sports activities that promote energy and vitality within an entertaining framework that encourages participation and interaction. This is clearly reflected on the ground at Lusail Sports Hall, which welcomes daily large numbers of children who actively take part and enjoy the diverse activities. These include speed and strength exercises, stretching, flexibility and balance training, mini football matches, and self-defense training (Muay Thai).

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, explained that camps organized during school holidays successfully achieve their objectives by offering well-designed programs. As a result, they receive strong community engagement and attract increasing numbers of participants time after time. He noted that these camps have become an excellent opportunity to benefit from high-quality sports and recreational activities that aim to make productive use of children’s free time, help develop their skills, and instill in them strong motivation to practice sports.

The concept of seasonal camps for young children adopted by the Qatar Sports for All Federation embodies an ambitious vision that seeks to further spread sports culture across various segments of society and enhance fitness levels, particularly among this age group. This is achieved by offering an integrated package of activities that combine sports and recreation. These quality programs receive full support from the Ministry of Sports and Youth and are implemented through the multiple initiatives organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation, all of which aim to contribute to building a promising generation that enjoys good health and sound physical development.
