Lusail Sports Hall hosted the launch of the “Sport is Life” event, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation, in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and in cooperation with the Sustainable Development Goals Ambassadors Center. The event saw the participation of 65 children aged between 8 and 14, as part of the federation’s efforts to promote a culture of sports and encourage healthy lifestyles amongst the community, particularly young people.

The recreational and sports activities kicked off at 4:00 PM and continued for two hours in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and interaction. The event featured more than 10 different games and activities for children, including football, volleyball, shooting, archery, gymnastics, tug-of-war, tennis, badminton, and Muay Thai, in addition to fun “tele-match” games that added excitement and enjoyment.

The event also included an awareness workshop aimed at educating children on proper ways to practice sports in various environments, whether at home, school, or in public spaces such as parks. This initiative seeks to instill healthy habits and positive behaviors, and comes as part of the federation’s community programs to enhance sports awareness and expand participation, contributing to building a healthy and active society.

Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, stated that the “Sport is Life” event was marked by energy and engagement, with strong attendance from children accompanied by their families. He noted that this helps create a positive environment that encourages sports participation while nurturing children’s abilities and talents. Participants enjoyed engaging in activities beneficial for both their physical and mental well-being.

He added that the event highlights the important role of families in supporting their children, as parental presence and involvement provide greater motivation for children to continue practicing sports and reinforce healthy values and behaviors.

Al-Dosari emphasized that the federation remains committed to organizing and diversifying sports activities targeting all segments of society, especially children, by channeling their energy in a safe and motivating environment. He noted that such efforts support the federation’s strategy to promote sports culture among the widest possible audience.

He concluded by reaffirming the federation’s continued implementation of its community programs through its annual calendar, which includes more than 850 events this year, encouraging everyone to follow and participate through the Qatar Sports for All app, which offers diverse opportunities to engage in sports and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
