Under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports for All Federation brought down the curtain on Summer Sport for All 2025 with a remarkable closing and recognition ceremony at Lusail Sports Hall. The event blended celebration with achievement, honoring the success of an eight-week journey that offered a wide variety of sports, recreational, and cultural activities across club fields, youth centers, public parks, and schools. More than 32,000 participants of all ages took part, creating an unprecedented community success story.
Honoring Partners and Supporters
The ceremony, held last Thursday at Al-Sudfa Hall, featured the recognition of 27 government bodies, institutions, and ministries, along with 42 partners in success. These included the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Interior represented by Civil Defense, Traffic, and Community Police, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the Ministry of Municipality, sports clubs, youth centers, federations, and local newspapers such as Al-Sharq, Al-Arab, and Al-Raya. The federation also gave special recognition to outstanding children from the Sport for All Camp and participants in specialized training programs such as swimming and Muay Thai self-defense.
Remarkable Success
Abdulrahman bin Muslim Al-Dosari, Advisor to H.E. the Minister of Sports and Youth and President of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, expressed his pride in the outstanding success of the summer program. He highlighted that the participation of over 32,000 people was the result of the diversity of activities, spread across more than 30 venues. He credited the strong support of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the active engagement of partners for the program’s excellence, reflecting the community’s growing awareness of the importance of sport.
He noted that public demand to extend the program underscores the community’s need for such initiatives, which provide safe and engaging opportunities for physical activity during the summer. Al-Dosari thanked all participating entities, with special appreciation for the federation’s strategic media partner for its continuous coverage, and expressed his hope that participation would grow further in future editions.
A Comprehensive Program
Al-Dosari emphasized that Summer Sport for All was designed as a holistic program that turned the summer break into an opportunity for physical activity, healthy living, and skill-building. The activities helped participants develop teamwork, discipline, and new abilities through a mix of sports and training tailored to different needs.
He added that this aligns with the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s strategy to broaden the base of sports practitioners in Qatar and provide inclusive community platforms that promote public health.
Wide Participation
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the federation, stressed the federation’s commitment to reaching the largest possible segment of the community, especially children and youth. He explained that Summer Sport for All 2025 covered more than 30 locations, hosted over 180 activities, and attracted more than 32,000 participants across all age groups in a safe and recreational environment. Key highlights included the Children’s Summer Camp at Lusail Sports Hall, the Mall Walking Challenge, and special women’s programs at Education City.
The children’s camp alone drew more than 4,300 participants, offering eight weeks of football matches, Muay Thai training, group games, fitness classes, health and nutrition workshops, and awareness sessions on safety and community values. Fitness programs in public parks attracted more than 6,200 participants, while Muay Thai activities engaged 2,500 children. The women’s evening at Education City saw around 4,800 participants, and swimming courses for children aged 7–12 achieved remarkable success in Al-Arabi, Al-Wakrah, and Al-Jumayliyah youth centers.
Diverse Competitions
The program also featured running races at Aspire’s indoor track, with over 450 participants, and bookings at community fields reached 8,400 for football and walking. The summer concluded with final tournaments in football, volleyball, handball, tennis, billiards, and chess—marking a fitting end to a summer that combined sporting fun with health education.
A National Model of Collaboration
The federation emphasized that the success of Summer Sport for All 2025 would not have been possible without continuous family support and strong partnerships with ministries, federations, clubs, and institutions. This collaboration reflects a comprehensive national model, where joint efforts created a vibrant, safe, and engaging environment for the community to enjoy sports.
Expanding Sports Culture
Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mudihki, President of the Qatar Chess Federation, thanked the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Qatar Sports for All Federation for their exceptional efforts during Summer 2025. He highlighted the success of the chess championship held as part of the summer program, which attracted wide participation and encouraged children to embrace the game. He also confirmed that the federation will continue to expand participation in future years, aiming to foster greater love and engagement with chess.
