Qatar Foundation, in collaboration with the Qatar Sports for All Federation under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, organized a special sports evening for women and children aged 6 years and older at Education City Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The recreational and sporting activities lasted for four hours, from 5 PM to 9 PM, attracting a wide participation of women accompanied by their children. The women’s evening at Education City will be held regularly every Tuesday to promote physical activity, provide a healthy lifestyle, improve fitness levels, and encourage continuous exercise in a safe and private atmosphere. The evening featured a family-friendly environment filled with diverse sporting and recreational activities suitable for all skill levels, welcoming everyone.
The activities included running, intensive fat-burning workouts, fun sports tournaments, and other activities such as netball and football. Participants enjoyed designated areas for stretching and relaxation, allowing mothers to have a great time with their children. There were also activities specifically for kids, such as educational shows and recreational games, enabling mothers to exercise without worrying about their children.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Head of Activities and Events at the Qatar Sports for All Federation, emphasized that women hold a prominent place in the federation’s interests. He stated that the federation is keen to collaborate with various state institutions to organize numerous sporting events and tournaments that reflect this focus and meet women’s aspirations for engaging in sports and enjoying a healthy lifestyle.
Al-Dosari noted the previous event’s success, which saw the participation of over 1,100 women with their children, leading to the decision to hold the evening regularly every Tuesday. He added that the focus on women’s sports events aims to promote sports practice among all community members and facilitate women’s involvement in sporting activities
