As part of the joint cooperation programs between the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Qatar Sports For All Federation organized a field visit last Thursday for students enrolled in the Al Khor Preparatory Girls’ Summer Center to Lusail Sports Hall. The aim was to introduce the students to the activities and programs of the Sports for All Summer Camp, dedicated to boys and girls aged 6 to 11 years old. This initiative falls under the 2025 “Sports for All Summer Calendar,” which includes events at stadiums, sports halls, clubs, youth centers, public parks, and schools, with the participation of 28 entities from various ministries, institutions, and organizations. The goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage all segments of society — especially children and school students — to engage in sports and maintain physical activity during the summer holiday.

A total of 150 students participated in the visit, touring the sports hall’s facilities to learn about different sports infrastructures. They also took part in interactive activities within the camp, including team games, fitness exercises, self-defense sports (Muay Thai), football, and table tennis, in addition to workshops on healthy nutrition, religious lessons, civil defense guidance, and traffic awareness.

Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports For All Federation, described the visit as a successful model of effective collaboration between the two ministries. He emphasized the importance of integrated efforts to strengthen and spread sports culture among the largest number of community members. Al-Dosari noted the high level of student engagement and enthusiasm during the camp tour, adding that such visits have a tangible impact in encouraging girls to participate in sports activities, both within and outside of school.

He further explained that the Federation’s involvement in school summer center activities is progressing well in four schools — three for girls and one for boys. In schools where the Federation is not directly present, daily Muay Thai sports sessions are held under the supervision of specialized coaches as part of the general summer program. He stressed that these centers are ideal platforms for reinforcing sports values, promoting active lifestyles, and achieving the goal of reaching the widest possible segment of society, while also strengthening partnerships that encourage students to make productive use of their time through beneficial sports activities.

The second round of the Sports for All Summer Camp at Lusail Hall witnessed a large turnout, with over 1,500 children participating over the past three weeks. The camp welcomes boys and girls from Sunday to Thursday each week and offers children aged 6 to 11 a well-rounded experience combining sports, education, awareness, entertainment, and physical activity — all under one roof at Lusail Sports Hall.
