The Qatar Sports for All Federation has opened a new athletic window through the introduction of a program that teaches and trains youth in various sports. One of these is the Sailing and Kayaking Program, organized under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth in cooperation with the Doha Marine Sports Club. The training sessions were held in recent days and concluded yesterday at Katara Beach, witnessing a large turnout of water sports enthusiasts due to the unique nature of the activity and growing interest among participants.
The Sailing and Kayaking Program has been added to the federation’s calendar as part of the “Summer Sports for All” initiative, which began at the end of June and continues until August 7. The program takes place across sports clubs, youth centers, public parks, and sports halls, with the participation of 28 entities, including various ministries, institutions, organizations, and schools. The goal is to promote healthy lifestyles and encourage physical activity in the community during the summer break by offering a variety of programs and sports events. These aim to instill a spirit of competition and athletic values among participants—mainly children, youth, and especially students—during their school holiday.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, described the sailing and kayaking program as a unique one that achieves outstanding results. He noted the strong participation of individuals eager to learn the essential skills for practicing marine sports. The program also teaches the principles of water safety, rowing, and safe navigation. Trainings are supervised by certified instructors and include both theoretical and practical elements in a well-equipped, safe environment. The sessions cover the structure of sailing and kayaking boats, how to maintain balance, steer using paddles, and perform warm-up exercises specific to water sports.
Al-Dosari emphasized that the federation aims to give participants a safe and enjoyable marine experience that enhances their physical abilities, widens their knowledge, and fosters interaction with water-based sports environments. He encouraged the public to take advantage of such valuable training opportunities offered by the “Summer Sports for All” program, which also includes a wide range of events and activities tailored to different interests. These include beach sports, kayaking, jet skiing, beach volleyball, self-defense games, and a special camp for children aged 6 to 11, held at Lusail Stadium.
The program’s diverse activities are designed to suit all age groups and community segments, ensuring open participation for everyone.
The “Summer Sports for All 2025” program stands out for its variety of events, catering to the needs of men, youth, children, women, and the elderly. It provides an ideal way to fill free time during the summer holiday with meaningful, physical, and mentally enriching activities. It also contributes to refining athletic and social skills.
