The Qatar Sports for All Federation, a partner of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, announced the resumption of Al Furjan playground activities across all regions of the country. The fields are reopening their doors to football enthusiasts and walking practitioners through the “Sports for All” app, with an emphasis on no spectator attendance and strict adherence to procedures and safety standards approved by the Ministry of Interior. This aims to ensure a safe and attractive environment for those wishing to practice sports within residential neighborhoods, as part of the federation’s efforts to continue expanding community participation in physical activity and making better use of sports facilities to organize engaging events and activities for youth and all segments of society.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, confirmed that Al Furjan playgrounds are witnessing a strong return of various sports activities after the exceptional pause period. This comes as part of the federation’s ongoing efforts to provide youth with opportunities to play football through bookings now available to everyone via the federation’s app. He explained that the 18 Al Furjan playgrounds play a key role in spreading a culture of sports participation and raising awareness of its importance, serving as a vital outlet for youth, and an important platform for amateur players to engage in diverse sports activities. He noted that the playgrounds attract more than 3,000 players monthly from various categories, including government institutions and social clubs.

Al-Dosari added that the Al Furjan playgrounds host the “Furjan Championships,” a series of tournaments organized every two months, which contribute to strengthening community participation and sustaining high-quality activities offered by the federation. These efforts aim to encourage various groups to adopt sports as a lifestyle that reflects values of activity and vitality.
